Impaired neutrophil extracellular trap formation: a novel defect in the innate immune system of aged individuals

Abstract: Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) are a recently discovered addition to the defensive armamentarium of neutrophils, assisting in the immune response against rapidly dividing bacteria.
